"I had the absolute pleasure of traveling with Charles to Colorado in May 2016. I tend to be a planner, but knew that I did not want to experience the stress or pressure of having to take the lead. Charles graciously said “Don’t worry about that. I’d love to do it!” I expressed that I wanted some things planned out, but did not need a strict itinerary—that I was open to *somewhat* go with the flow. Being that planner-type, I admittedly felt guilty of leaving most of the decisions up to Charles, but I completely trusted him…and boy, did he deliver!
Charles has an innate curiosity to explore the beauties the world has to offer, paired with a friendly and outgoing sensibility. He is truly one of the kindest, most warm-hearted people I know. These qualities shone throughout our trip and enhanced what would have been an amazing vacation on its own. Charles took me to Eldorado Canyon State Park, Boulder, Garden of the Gods, Red Rocks Amphitheater and Rocky Mountain National Park. The awesomeness of these natural wonders were enriched by Charles’ knowledge and personality. In addition to these bigger attractions, we got to visit fun local spots that made me feel more attuned to the culture of Colorado. Charles is a lover of the outdoors, delicious food and great experiences — all of which contributed to the planning of our wonderful vacation. I regret that I haven’t had another big trip with Charles since then, but am definitely looking forward to my next adventure with him!"

"As a first-time visitor to Colorado I was excited and nervous all at the same! I knew there was so much to see and so many wonderful places to visit but I had no idea where to begin. I previously knew Charles from a past employer and when he mentioned visiting Colorado at the same time I knew I was in luck. There is no better way to say it than he is an awesome tour guide!! Charles showed us the ins and outs of the city (great restaurant and bars!) and then also showed us the amazing landscape the state has to offer. First, we started with Rocky Mountain National Park which was incredible. He took us down paths and roads that were less crowded and had absolutely stunning views. He then showed us Boulder, CO and took us to the most perfect restaurant where we enjoyed beers and laughs. Last but certainly not least, Charles took us to an awesome concert at Red Rocks Amphitheater! It was incredible. Having Charles as a tour guide was the best thing for my trip. He knew exactly where to go (yes, he knew the highways) and showed us so many great places and views - it was almost as if he was a Colorado resident at the time. In addition, Charles has a personality that can light up a room. There are no dull moments and the laughs are contagious. Plus, he loves the outdoors, great food and good times. So, what more can you ask for?! I would highly recommend Charles to anyone traveling to Colorado! 5/5 stars all around. 😊"

My wife, Lia Littlewood, and I hosted Charles at our Organic WWOOF farm in Yuma, Arizona. What an infectious joy he is! Whether mucking out goat corrals, pulling weeds, or enjoying a cold one on the porch after a long day in the heat, he always had a smile and was ready to talk – about anything under the sun. Believe me, I’ve tested that last part… Charles is simply one of the most affably engaging people I’ve ever met. More importantly, Charles understands that building community truly begins with him. During his time in Yuma, he volunteered left and right, genuinely wanted to learn more about our ‘place and people’ (and did!), and never expressed any frustration at any of some of Yuma’s odder idiosyncrasies. He honestly only sees opportunity. By starting from, and offering, himself in friendship Charles makes the world a better place – one person, one task, one hike, one meal, one beer, one day at a time. If you’re considering spending time with him, especially out in the Rockies (!), you’ll surely enjoy yourself – and learn a lot. We wish him all the best with Wonder Escapades.
